Enjoy the beautiful country in our outdoor garden setting specially designed for weddings and receptions. Our tented space allows for food and beverage service as well as guest seating.

Our History
1985
September 15
Wizard Catering started business by catering a small Anniversary Dinner for a cousin of the owner. We shared kitchen space with a small deli in Mount Joy. Holiday parties and corporate picnics were the most frequent types of events. Our steady growth throughout the years has been made possible by our many loyal clients.
1986
Still a part time business, but growing quickly, the business was moved to its own small leased quarters near Marietta. Advertising was started in Yellow Pages directories, and a staff of on call waiters was developed. Wedding Receptions, holiday parties and picnics were most popular.
1989
The search for expanded space landed Wizard Catering in Elizabethtown with 1200 square feet of space beside Nolt's Fine Seafood. The business became full time for the owner and by 1993 five other persons were employed full time. This period also saw the development of corporate catering. Cool Creek Country Club contracted us for exclusive use of their Ballroom facility in 1990. In 1995 we began our search for a new location that could offer banquet space. The staff that Wizard now employed were very cramped at the Elizabethtown site.
1996
The lengthy search yielded an existing building that had been a restaurant and dairy store previously (just outside Mount Joy near route 283). After extensive renovations, Acorn Farms Reception and Conference Center was opened in November of 1996. The facility features three banquet rooms seating up to 150 guests. Our facility also contains a large inspected production kitchen with extensive storage space for food, tables, chairs, linens, audio/visual equipment, china, flatware and glassware.
2002
An addition was built to expand our Ballroom at Acorn Farms. It was completed on April 1 to accommodate 225 guests (up from the previous 150). In addition, the decor of the room was improved with a higher ceiling, elegant wall coverings and a built in dance floor.
2013
Outdoor facilities including a wedding ceremony site and an area for outdoor dining and tents were built in the rear area of Acorn Farms. An additional 48 parking spaces were also added.
2015
Celebrated 30th anniversary in business. Lobby and dining rooms renovated with new flooring and carpet. Our BBQ Division was renamed as Acorn Farms Authentic BBQ and BBQ Thursday was offered seasonally.
2017
Pond and Waterfalls added to outdoor gardens.
2018
More improvements were completed to our outdoor garden. The sidewalk was extended down into the garden and a new arbor was custom built for us. Guests may enjoy our extensive plantings of annual & perennial flowers in every corner of the garden.
